boulder league survey
Thanks for a terrific boulder league this past spring!

We had a great time putting it on and hope you had a great time participating, but now we'd like to get some feedback from you to see how we can improve things.

Feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you want. Sign the survey at the bottom if you'd like or stay anonymous - we just want some feedback.

And don't forget to add some comments at the bottom.

Thanks,

Section A
General Questions
1.There were six routes each week. How many would you like to see each week?
I'd like to see route(s) each week.
2.Boulder league was five scoring weeks with a bye-week in the middle. How many scoring-weeks do you think boulder league should be?
 I'd like scoring week(s).
3.The bye-week allowed staff a break in route setting and coincided with CWRU's spring break. Did you like it though? How many bye-weeks would you prefer?
 I'd like bye-week(s).
4.We had one or two top rope routes each week. How many would you like to see each week?
 I'd like top rope route(s).
5.Boulder league cost $35 and included a dinner at Muldoon's. Was the cost reasonable?

6.Would you do boulder league again? Perhaps in the fall?

7.Boulder league was on Tuesday, this gave setters Sunday and Monday to set routes, but effectively closed the boulder area those days. It's not practical to have boulder league more than once a weeek, so is there one day you'd prefer?

Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
8.Looking at the scores, it's obvious the Red team's cheer put them over the top. Do you think the cheer should count as much in the next league as it did this time?

Section B
We toyed with some things during boulder league ... what are your thoughts?
1.We tried some routes with alternate starts and alternate endings - but not every route had them. How many would you like to see with alternate scoring?

2.Not every boulder route was worth 10 points. While this gives the setters more freedom in setting routes, it means each week can have a different number of available points. Is it important to keep the scoring the same from week-to-week?

3.We had two teams this year, when previously we had more teams with fewer people. What would you prefer?
  I'd prefer
4.Previously we tried to keep the first week easiest and the final week the hardest, but this time we choose to do things more randomly. Which do you prefer?

Section C
And we're thinking of toying with some other things ... what do you think?
1.Previously we dropped each individual's low week, but we're thinking about not dropping any scores next time. What do you think?

2.Some people like dynos - others don't. What about adding a 1 or 2 point dyno route each week?

3.Let's face it, men and women climb differently. What if there was a men's version and a women's version of some routes.

4.What about routes that are worth different points during a second attempt?

5.Boulder league is meant to be a fun, social activity, but we realize there's a comptitive side, too. How should this be reflected in the routes?

6.Speed climbs? What are your thoughts?

Section D
Wrap Up & Talk Back
1.How did you like dinner at Muldoon's?

2.We've tried a fun-comp with the boulder league before. Do you want to see it come back?

3.We asked what we wanted to know, but what do you want to tell us? (While this poll is anonymous, if you type with an accent, we may recognize who you are!)

By the way: there weren't any cheers. Maybe we should change the rules for next time ...
